javanesse home |
In 1975, I was born in Salaman, Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. I lived in small village, Sidomulyo. There're so many things that could made me happy. There're paddy field, small rivers, and mountain range. I learned traditional javanesse music, gamelan, because my father, Teguh Rahayu, was an expert in this music. And I like to watch wayang, puppet theatre based on mahabaratha and ramayana stories. So no wonder if I wanted to be dalang, a wayang story teller. I thought it's cool to be the king maker. When I celebrated my 7th birthday, my father gave me nice present. He hired a wayang perfomace in my home. So many people came. So many people watched it. And of course, so many gifts. I wanted to be dalang, when I studied in elementary school. When I studied in junior high school, I wish I could be a farmer or a journalist. Live in peace, that was my argument if you asked me why I wanted to be a farmer. And about journalist, I thought it could give me stories about human life. I love reading very much, as I love to write. And when I knew computer for the first time in 1991, I changed my idea. I wanted to be computer expert. But destiny gave the way. I studied in Communications Studies since 1993. I thought it's not bad. I could be a journalist. As I said, destiny gave the way. Now I am a reporter in Tempo News Room. Since December 2000, I have been working in Tempo Inti Media. So you can find my news and features in Tempo Magazine, Tempo Interactive, and Koran Tempo. Before in Tempo News Room, I had been working in communication and advertising magazine, Cakram, for about five month. But it was not my first journalist career. I worked in some weekly newspaper when I was student in Diponegoro University, Semarang. |
